My name is Chandler Mann. I'm a 24 year old designer and calligrapher for Scarlet & Gold. I'm a small town Kansas girl who's now taking on Kansas City! I'm thrilled to be back on Inspire Me Monday sharing about new seasons!
To say I’m going through a season of NEW is an understatement. New state, new job, new home, new church, new ministry, new hobbies, new friends, new significant other. Sometimes I feel like I’m looking at myself from the outside in, wondering whose life I’m living. Don’t get me wrong; these changes are all a blessing in their own way! During so much change my one consistency, the Lord, has remained steadfast. Isn’t it so true that when everything in our life is steady and nothing is rocking the boat our need for him isn’t as apparent? With all of these changes I’ve realized my knees are where I find myself most, yearning for Lord to fill me up.
Why do we go through new seasons? How boring would life be if we found ourselves coasting through the same mundane routine our entire lives? Keith Chancey, the founder of the seminary program I attended said, “The Lord does not have you in this season to be complacent. He has you here to grow you, transform your heart, and send you off to make disciples.” This impacted my life in a huge way! Although everything new is unchartered territory, why not dive in? Whether you’re moving, getting married, having a baby, grieving, or scratching at the surface to get out the season you’re in, God will use you!
When moving to Kansas City I wanted to be intentional about my time. I knew it was important for me to get connected and pour into the city! Although I didn’t know if I would be living there for six months or six years, I wanted to invest into a community, not just get by day to day. It’s never easy to put yourself out there but “You have to want it more than you’re afraid of it.”
As March begins, and spring is on the horizon, just as seasons are changing so will our lives. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" I feel so blessed to have all of the NEW flowing into my life! If I’ve learned one thing from each new season it’s to allow the Lord to use you right now! It’s never to late to start a bible study, join a ministry, give encouragement to coworkers or serve those around you! Grow where you are planted and embrace the new, now!
