How To Throw A Galentine’s Day Brunch Your Friends Will Love

We love celebrating our gal pals here at S&G, and while everyday feels like a party to us, we want to help you throw the ultimate Galentine’s Day bash for the lovely ladies in your life! If you aren’t familiar with the term, Galentine’s, it’s a fun take on Valentine’s Day, but is all about showing love to your girlfriends. (Sorry, no boys allowed!)

We absolutely love the idea of a cute and cozy brunch, complete with the prettiest decorations, tasty bites and bubbly drinks! Plus, it’s not a party without plenty of photo ops and activities included specifically to create some quality girl time!

Get ready to party, loves!

The Dress Code: First things first, every good party has a dress up theme! Ask your guests to wear their favorite matching PJ’s, or maybe dress up in something pink or red, or even wear all white! A cute dress up theme ensures for amazing group pictures and creates a fun cohesive aesthetic for the whole day!

The Decorations: No matter what your budget is, you can create the perfect atmosphere for a party you and your girls will never forget! We recommend working with a festive color palette of pinks, reds, white, black, silver and gold! A colorful and fun garland is the perfect statement piece and one you can easily DIY! Use catchy buzz words or phrases like “Be Mine”, “Love You!”, “XOXO”, “Love” or “Happy Galentine’s!”.

Pick out your favorite shades of lipstick and pucker up for a fun DIY take on these adorable balloons! Simply pick up a pack of white balloons at your local party store, leave a few smooch stains and you’re done! If you don’t want to use up your favorite lipsticks, opt for some cute kiss shaped stickers instead.

And finally, don’t forget to set the table! This adorable and foolproof DIY will make your tablecloth a statement piece. Place a layer of newspaper underneath a plain white cotton tablecloth and paint large X’s and O’s, don’t worry about perfection! After letting it dry, we recommend pairing it with with pops of pink, red or metallic dishware and napkins!

The Food: What’s a party without food? A Valentine’s Day brunch calls for sweet takes on classic favorites. To best accommodate a large party, set up a fun themed bar and let guests build their own brunch! You could do a waffle bar with various waffle flavors like strawberry, chocolate or buttermilk and pair them with dishes of toppings like chocolate chips, fresh fruit, chocolate sauce, sprinkles and whipped cream. Other options could be a cereal or bagel bar!

And let’s be real here ladies, while brunch is great, it’s never too early for dessert! Be extra sweet on your gal pals by feasting on some sugary treats! These chocolate covered pretzels are a classic and can be freshened up with some V-Day sprinkles. To keep with the brunch theme, these Cupid’s arrow donut holes are deliciously cute. And who doesn’t love a good cookie cake?

The Drinks: Pop some bubbly or uncork some wine to get the party started! Keep things classy by simply mixing rosé and sprite for a light cocktail, then sweeten it up with some fresh raspberries and a sugared rim! Strawberry milk will also pair perfectly with your breakfast spread as will red juices like cranberry or Hawaiian Punch.

Take time to let everyone create their own valentine, then pass them around the room in a circle and fill them with little notes about how much and why you love each other. Then, bust out that polaroid and and snap some cute pics! Create the perfect photo op backdrop by tying ribbons to a strong string - so easy and cheap!
